April 15

It's snowing here tonight. Looks like we've had about 2 inches. Most of it is melting so it's wet and sloppy outside.

The flood committee met this afternoon. Tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. we will be putting some sandbags at the Pembina River bridge. Help is always welcome!!

The river was at 47.77 ft tonight. We will begin dike patrols on Monday. The Command Center will be opening at 4:00 p.m. Sunday for volunteers to come in and sign up for walking the main Pembina dike. You must be 18 years old or older to walk.

The next flood committee meeting will be Monday at 4:30.

  1. Hi this is Janet Buchanan from St John. I followed your blog when we had the 2009 maintenance contract at the Pembina POE. We still have the picture of the 2009 Pembina Island aerial photo on our fridge. It is really amazing to see a small community come together to fight the floods. The students are great to see working as hard as they are, but probably anything to not be inside at school. Gary and Michell Helland are friends of mine. Gary from working on the maintenance project and Michelle from email. Everyone stay save, good luck, and take care. I will check back. Janet
